Good morning! I will be in Ghana next spring and would like to spend more time exploring it and perhaps other countries in West Africa (I feel a pull toward Ouagadougou...). Does anyone have stories, suggestions or other things to share about traveling logistics (I'll be a solo woman), places that shouldn't be missed, etc? I probably have about a month. I have never been to Ghana before, but have visited South Africa, FWIW. Thanks much!

I can suggest some places to visit in Senegal and Mali. In general, I think you should be fine traveling on your own.
PM me if you'd like specifics!

If you are there at the right time, there is a wonderful crafts and cultural festival in Bobo, B.F. There is also FESPACO (great film festival) in Ouga, but I think it is only in alternate years. But there is an excellent theatre festival on the even years in May/June.
PM me if you want more info.
I also loved Mali. Quite safe in the south and worth the visit. But probably best to find a travelling companion.

I spent a lot of time in Cameroon and it is a really great place to travel. Yaounde - the capital is very nice and great to travel within.
