Hi there,
I have to quickly put together a presentation for a funding body in Germany in the next few days in which I would very much like to point out the still very low numbers of female professors (especially at the highest level) in Germany in international comparison. I have found fantastic data from the EU comparing all EU countries in this regard but I am most particularly curious about a comparison between Germany and the US and Canada.
Can anyone point me in the right direction for current statistics?t
Thanks very much in advance,

For Canadian data, you could contact the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) or go to their website.

They collect information on the demographics of professors, broken down by discipline and rank. Interestingly, they also post salary information.

For the U.S., try the American Association of University Women:

Thanks guys.
What I am really looking for is a comparable table to one prepared by the EU comparing "top level" professorships in various countries.
Is anyone aware of such comparative data in one single source (one that one can preferably use in a powerpoint)?
I realize that one big problem for such research is the manner in which one compares "tope level" professorships in different systems on the one hand and the relative social status of professors on the other. Nonetheless I would be very grateful for any tips!
thanks,

I'm guessing that if you contact someone from those organizations they could supply you with articles, info, and possibly charts, or put you in touch with people who could.
