Speaking of fruitfulness, my back garden is full of fruit, fallen and moldy apples and plums.

Not even enough plums to make sauce for a duck?

Our next door neighbour had a marvellous year with her quinces, so I've made a load of membrillo and we had mallard stuffed with quinces last weekend.

But I finally caved last night and put on the heating for a couple of hours :-(

I've had the heat on all day. I suppose I need to go turn it off before Hubby Bubba arrives home.

But at least my feet have been warm and the cats have been happy.

I was thinking to myself, I really can't have the heat on in September.  That's shameful.

Then I remembered that it's October.  Ahhhhh, warmth.

We are having the first gales of the season. I was at the farmers' market this morning and the stall-holders were struggling to keep the covers for the stalls from taking off.

That was our weather yesterday. Today it's just frequent showers; I was absolutely soaked on the beach.

OK. I heard you wishing for rain expatinuk! Couldn't you have waiting until I'd got the washing in?

We have reverted to grey with a side order of damp.

Grey. With a side order of grey. Very undramatic, unlike yesterday.

Yes, for half of the time yesterday. The sun battled it's way through the clouds from time to time as well.

Can I smile smugly to myself? It is a beautiful crisp Fall day here, with just a hint of high cloud to mar the brilliance of the sun.

It looks as though tomorrow will not be so good.

Ha! We notice the words "wintry", "showers" and "strong winds" in your 3-5 day forecast ;-)

Lots of sun today and I was able to cut the grass. Gray now, however, with rain on the way...

Forecast not too bad except for tomorrow morning.
