I think we can only declare the autumn season open.

Memo: must get corgi engineer in to look at gas fire because we're going to need to switch it on in a few days,

I was thinking of skipping straight to a winter thread...

I was trying to understand why you wouldn't call a vet instead, then I figured it out...

No mist and mellow fruitfulness here, just torrential rain and winds. And yesterday was such a lovely day.

I woke up this morning thinking it must be Autumn because I need to switch to a thicker duvet.

We currently have bright sunshine . . . with gales.

I woke up this morning thinking it must be Autumn because I need to switch to a thicker duvet.

I've beaten you to it. I gave up last night and dragged the sheepskin out from the cupboard and stuck it over the foot of the bed.

I am sitting outside in the sun in a t'shirt.

Absolutely freezing and the dog is splashing around in the lake on the back patio - but I'm sitting outside, d@mnit!

I turned blue with cold today while playing music for an outdoor event. I think that means summer is over.

I'm just trying to focus on the new food.  Keep your eye on the squash, I say.

We had a spell of warm sunshine yesterday and I was able to cut the grass and sit out for a bit.

It's now been raining for about 19 hours, however.

Whereas I spent the early afternoon today basking in the sun at a local festival - the basking ceased as soon as the sun went behind the clouds though. But definitely no rain.

I have just looked at the forecast for my intended (UK) holiday destination next week and note that there is yet more rain to come. I may have to rethink my plans, and definitely need to buy a new waterproof before I set out.

Severe gales, anyone?

Not forecast, but that's what the noises outside suggest...

Hm. Looks like they are arriving here tomorrow morning, along with rain. I might have to rethink the weeding plan....

<looks at Met Office web page very carefully, along with BBC weather and Yahoo weather>

No, I don't need new glasses. We really do have a forecast high of 27C today!

One last hurrah for the grill, methinks.
