I'm currently reading Still Alice by Lisa Genova.  I haven't gotten far enough to decide how I feel about it, but it deals with a Harvard professor's diagnosis of early onset Alzheimer's.  So far, I am finding it pretty wrenching -- but then, I have something similar going on in my family right now.

Chime to I Know This Much is True.  Up to a point, all three of his books (She's Come Undone and The Hour I First Believed) deal with mental illness.
