Hi folks,
I have been reading old threads about prepping for interviews with Presidents of universities and community colleges, which have been immensely helpful for me (thank you old threads).

I have a somewhat unique situation, so thought I'd post and see if anyone cares to comment:

I have a second interview tomorrow morning with the VP of Instruction at a community college, who is acting as the President of CC (since she's out of town).  This is for an Exempt position--they are looking for a Director of a new 4 year BA program the college is starting up oh, this Fall.  So the position is 1/3 teaching and 2/3 management and administration of this new program.  It does sound like this second interview will be shorter and less formal than the first interview I went through a couple weeks ago (6 person panel interview, lots of grilling, 15 minute teaching presentation).

Anyone have experience interviewing for a position like this?

Thanks in advance.

Yes. Why do you think your situation is unique? It sounds normal. You're interviewing for a primarily administrative role in academic affairs; you've passed the committee interview and now you're sitting down with the boss. Do you have any specific questions?

Do some research on the interviewer: look for publications and/or information about her background and her current pet projects. Without sounding like a stalker, make sure you say the right things about the issues she cares about.

Be an excellent listener, and practice using facial expressions that convey an acknowledgement of wisdom and brilliance.
