Higher Ed->Corporate->Want to go back to HED

Hello Everybody-
I am looking for some advice on how to get back into HED after a 4 year stint in the coporate world. I started off in admissions at a SUNY, working at a counselor as a SUNY college and then a SUNY Research Univ. I then took about a year off and went into banking. I went back into HED as an Assoc. Admissions Director at a small private for about 3 years.
After that, I was recruited into university recruiting for 3 years at a large commercial bank. A senior manager, sensing I had some banking potential, suggested I move into a product management role in the bank. I have been in this role for 10 months and absolutely hate it.
Along the way I earned an MBA in Technology Management from an AACSB accredited school.
Does anybody have any suggestions for getting back in? I would like to target higher level admissions positions or perhaps career counseling.
(Sorry for the long post)

Sounds like your background is perfect for an admissions position at a business school.
You'll have no problems getting your foot in the door as long as you're clear about why you want to return to higher education (and not just flee your current situation.)

I see two obvious paths: Admissions (entry side) or Career Services (exit side). You have experience in the former, and your time spent in corporate-land recruiting gives you a big advantage as you can help graduating seniors prepare better for interviewing, etc.
You might want to consider the for-profit sector, which is driven by admissions, and measures success by job placement rates. Of course, this path is not for just anyone: you need a very thick skin to survive it.
Best of luck
