chaste berry for PMS?

Anyone here taken chasteberry for PMS/PMT? It is an herbal tincture that has shown some promising results in clinical trials.
Thanks in advance for replies (and yes, I've already though about several snarks for the name of the herb!)

I used chasteberry on occassion before going on the pill, and it's pretty good for both PMS and regulating your cycle. I always made a tea from the dried berries (you can get them at some herby/witchy shops), but if you can get a standardized capsule or tincture that would be easier. Black haw bark is great for severe cramps, and black cohash is well known for peri/premenopausal problems, so it might be good for PMS too.
I'm not in medicine, though, so please check with someone trained before adding an herbal treatment. I think they're mostly pretty harmless, but the dosages are not regulated and you never know if there could be an interaction with other meds.
As for the funny name, I'm sure it doesn't actually make you "chaste" but I've heard that it has some unpleasant side effects for men. I probably wouldn't share my chasteberry tea with my hubby, anyway. :-)

Thanks monita. Much appreciated. I've checked it all out with my doctor, and I appreciate you telling me about your experiences with it.
