The only difference is that the grey bands on the sides are narrower in Safari because Safari doesn't fill my screen as Firefox does.

Then make the Firefox window narrower.

You are talking to a spammer. Does the configuration of the fora not meet their aesthetic satisfaction? Too bad, so sad, f*** 'em.

So I know now -- the spam wasn't up when I replied.  No excuse, I know.

OTOH, it does explain the idiocy of the comment.

Sorry if I came off as harsh -- I was intending to be so, but not to you! I have less than zero patience with spammers.

This is why I like having considerably less than 10,300 posts.  Far less to lose.

This website is so extremely amazing, unlike anything I've ever seen before.

I just love when newbies spam the moderators' threads!

Mods?  Software engineers?  Anyone?

Mac user here.  I've rebooted, cleaned caches & histories, and tried Safari and Firefox... and I can still only post now if I hit preview first.  I can't insert quotes unless I've already started a post and then go and find the specific quote I wanted to use.

Did something upgrade in the last day or two?

Help?

I had that experience with a post yesterday. I think it was a glitch.

I don't have the preview issue as far as I know (I'm also on a Mac using Firefox), but I can't quote unless I've already started a post and sometimes I get an "Error!" message when I logout.

The problem started yesterday (Friday) for me.

Same here with the problem start on Friday on a Mac with Firefox.  I can sometimes start a post by hitting quote, but often I see a "Your session cannot be authenticated.  Try logging out and logging back in" notice.  I cannot then log out, but if I hit back enough times, I can then start a reply by hitting reply and then attempting to quote, which is most unhandy when what I want to quote is too far back to show up at the bottom of my screen.

In addition, not all of my commands appear to work reliably.  Sometimes I have to hit quote a couple of times to get something to take, even when I've already started a post.  Sometimes, I have to hit preview a couple of times to get it to take.  I'm unsure about post itself because I've had too many "Another reply" red notices to see a pattern there.

It's not just you, Glowdart.
