I'm flying to the West Coast next week from Scotland - connecting in London. The other choices were to connect in NYC (Continental) or Paris (Air France). I have had some bad experiences with missing my connection in Charles de Gaulle. (They never seem to allow enough time, in spite of me running /rushing. I can't stand Charles de Gaulle, and I'm not too keen on the French, either.) I went with the London connection as it was the shortest travelling time.

Connections in Schipol (KLM) are often pretty good.

Thank you for the suggestions. Looks like I have lots of options, so I won't worry too much about making it there and back in a three or four days.
