Still no sign of the wet stuff (and it is now dark). Arrived home still without a jumper or jacket.

Bill? Oh, Bill? Where art thou?

(Anyone know the current projected track of the now extratropical remnants of Hurricane Bill?)

I have no doubt they will pass through this weekend (the one weekend I have at home in seven weeks - of course I need to get out in the garden to beat back the weeds).

The Shetlands and the Faroes being swept by a tropical storm ?

Note to self : invest in beach resorts near Tromso.

Lots of hype, little action.

Windy and rainy this morning but we've had worse of both several times during this alleged summer.

I would hazard a guess that we are at least on the edge of some of its effects at the moment. It has turned into a horrible day.

It is a glorious sunny morning here in the back-of-beyond and I am doing housework in a t-shirt, without a sweater.

You have remembered it is Bank Holiday, haven't you, and that there is time-honored British tradition that dictates that you spend hours in a traffic jam in the cold and wet?

The traffic jam is far more than I can handle, but I have busted out the hot water bottle, and am clutching it in one hand, with a hot cup of tea in the other.  Does that keep me more or less up to traditional par?

SUPPOSED to be hot and sunny here!... cloudy at the moment. Visitor from Paris here... and we're headed to Bakewell ... Haddon Hall, Nine Ladies Stone circle

If it's dry

If it's wet... Chatsworth...
