I was on the station at 0645 this morning in my shirt sleeves: not a cloud in the sky and pleasantly warm. I predict a fine weekend (I am over-whelmed with grading) and that the next two weeks will be glorious (see comment on grading).

We went out onto the lawn with champagne . . .

We managed a glass or so and retreated because it was actually bloody cold and windy :-(

Unlikely.  Summer in the UK is usually from 22 July to 3 August of each year.

This year I fear it has arrived early and will be from 30th May (exam grading starts - for me at least) to 12th June (when grades have to be submitted). It is a lovely day, but the breeze makes grading in the garden a little impractical - chasing exam scripts around the borders is a little too much like work. There will be rewards in the form of walks to get newspaper, and maybe later an ice-cream, built into the day.

Rocks as paperweights. That's my method.

Yours from the sunny, and breezy, back garden.

Absolutely lovely down sarf. Each park I passed on my bike was full of people picnicking, sunning themselves, enjoying the warmth. People meandering down canal paths happily gave way to me, to each other, to dogs, in a quite un-British way. Everyone basking, everyone happy.

I am really loving the weather here. I am sure it will get dark, cold and wet soon enough and then everyone who told me how bad the weather is in the UK can say I told you so. Until then I will continue to enjoy the sun.

Still lovely here, but tomorrow's forecast shows a 10C drop in maximum temperature. Time to iron some jumpers.

Sciived this afternoon - beer, friend, and barbecue. Twenty-five maybe? Spent afternoon in the shade and was outside w/out coat until after 10.

Forecast for tomorrow is 18 or so which isn't bad.

<SE, happy and somewhat PWP>

Oh, Scotia, marking is done!

Oh, Scotia, marking is done!

Does this green hue suit me?

It has clouded over here so maybe I won't feel quite so bad about the 300 or so exam scripts still awaiting my attention.
