I quit my PhD program in less than positive circumstances, leaving with an MS.  Since then I've had two temporary positions, one at a 4-year teaching college and one at a foreign university with research as well, both not near my hometown.

I know that I'm not interested in university research in the long-term, and am potentially interested in teaching.  I've had enough of traveling for the moment and would like to stay reasonably close to home.  I was considering trying to get another one-year temporary appointment teaching, but I'm not sure if three in a row would impact me negatively later?  I thought that being reasonably young, it could be explained, but I've had differing opinions.  What if I decide to venture outside academia afterwards?

Venturing out of academia will not be affected by your number of temporary positions. The ease of the transition will depend mightily on your field and other skills/experiences.

Within the University setting, a series of temporary positions with an MS degree is not unusual. Getting a full-time teaching position with these credentials will probably be difficult.
