You know, I have found many of the professor I've met - either as friends or through taking their classes - to be very funny. I love intelligent humor. (And car chase movies.)

I am well aware of the tendency of forums/email lists/bbs to turn towards war stories and venting about the system.  These stories create the threads that bond groups. Internet versions of "you should have seen the one that got away" and, well, war stories!

It's the same in any profession or interest group.

I am a survivor of the Great Internet Circumcision/Vaccination War (#65,789,203). I've ventured into World of Warcraft boards for research and gone to tech boards for suggestions on software and hardware.  I can certainly identify/ignore/avoid all sorts of trolls, flamers, whiners, self-proclaimed keepers of the RIGHT way to do things, 12 year old boys pretending to be men, and the disaffected. I've been in CHAT ROOMS!

I am woman. Here me roar.

(!6 hours later, same headache)

What's it pay and can I wear a uniform? (And I'll work for food or alcohol or DVDs of bad TV shows).

No pay but I occasionally bake.  You can wear whatever you like.

Then it's a deal.  I've never been a minion before. As a caveat, I would like to add that the name Colette Capricious was chosen for me by my best friend who knows me a bit too well.  I've been known to flit from shiny to shiny. I may require refocusing.

Dude, Secretweapon got a minion!

Does that make me a sub-minion? Can minions be co-opted by their master's master?

It's semi-feudal.  I am Onion's minion (though technically, DSMs don't have minions), so if Onion should call on your services you would be well advised to answer.

We had a minion thread that explained everything - of course I'll never find it now...

I assume you meant that DSMs technically aren't minions, not that they don't have them.  The minion/master relationship does tend to survive entrance to the clubhouse, though.

I should be banned from the computer - I am in no shape to write.  That's what I meant.  *sigh*

Well that cleared up several things!  Once i figured out DSM had nothing to do with the Flying Spaghetti Monster. In my defense, it is 4:00am, I just got back from a month overseas so I have no idea what time my body thinks is it and I have a post-nightmare Capricelette in bed with me.

I'd like to be a minion. Seems like a good way to learn the ropes.
