Yet another teaching demo question

I've been reading plenty here on teaching demos and all the variation that seems to be par for the course in the field of higher-ed. I will be conducting one of these in an interview soon to a SC for a job as coordinator of teacher education, The demo will be 10 minutes over teaching preservice teachers about the exanding multicultural qualities of classrooms. My question: Do I actually try to fit some sort of "teaching" into 10 minutes, or would I best serve the committee's needs by providing them a ten minute overview of what I'd do with a class for 60-75 minutes, incorporating elements of teacher-type-talk (use of the whiteboard/online Blackboard, use of questioning, etc.) into that overview? Make sense? Any thoughts? My apologies ahead of time for presenting yet another teaching demo question here, but thank you for your input ahead of time. These forums are fantastic sources of information.

I would try to teach for the 10 minutes. It will be difficult, but they want to see you in action. Perhaps open with a brief overview and then focus on one particular point or example related to exanding the multicultural qualities of classrooms. Wrap the demo up with a discussion of how this one particular point fits into your larger vision of multicultural teaching, etc. Whatever you do, don't just give them a summary of points for 10 minutes because if they wanted a general overview they would have asked for it.
Good luck! These things aren't easy but they go by FAST, so be prepared and try to relax and enjoy the moment.

Definitely do the teaching. If you haven't already seen it, I recommend this column:

As a search committee member, I wish everyone interviewing would read it.

Thanks so much! The link has some wonderful information for me to consider. I'll TEACH even if it's only for 10 minutes--kinda like fighting a war for 10 minutes--but if that's what they want, that's what they'll get.
Thanks again!
