Hello,

I'm a graduate student and I'm curious to hear what you think about the following social science organizations:

National Social Science Organization
Society for the Study of Social Problems

I'm asking because I presented at NSSA two years ago, and I've had a paper accepted for presentation at SSSP for this year. I am new to the field and am not sure if these organizations are reputable or respected in the field. I guess I'd like to know how easy it is to have a paper accepted at these conferences. Do they take everyone that applies? I think it is great experience for me regardless, but I'm still curious.

Any information or opinions you can provide would be appreciated! Thanks!

SSSP is legit.  I don't know about their acceptance rate -- but the society is fine, the journal is well known, no problems there.
