don't know why, but I'm suddenly addicted to this forum. I could spend hours browsing different posts and responses, and if I found one interesting, I will log in and respond. The time I spent in browsing this forum is becoming longer than the time I spent in writing papers or marking papers...

I'm addicted to this forum whenever I have grading or cleaning to do. I've thought of creating another identity called "Freret" which I could pretend was Prytania's other personality (a scary one that calls everyone "dear" and "sweetie" and recommends wearing pink sweater sets and pearls as the solution to all problems in the classroom), but then I realized that almost no one would get it.
Musing about this got me through a committee meeting, though.

Just FYI as your post implies you might not know this... If you log in before you start browsing, the software will keep track of the posts you've read. Then when you click on, say, meet and greet, there will be this little blue thing that says 'new' next to threads that have new posts since the last time you read them. AND if you click on the word 'new' it will take you right to the first new post in the thread. It's a very cool function. The "Show unread posts since last visit." and "Show new replies to your posts." functions are very cool as well. It took me several months to discover them. |
