Hello comprades,
I am brainstorming as to where to go and as well finding out where there might be a need.
Yes I would love your suggestions. I was looking at ESL cafe but since I am not really looking for an English teaching job I found the Chronicle!

A list works good and if anyone relates please send me a note on my emai you can copy and paste then just add the yahoo.com      sbjorkgren   yes I am deathly afraid of spammers.

1. Photojournalist---master's degree in Visual Communications 12 years experience covering Iraq war, Congo, Latin America, US for magazines and newspapers
 2. Must be able to take my small 5 year-old educated  dog along.
3. Decent pay and housing
I will not wear an abaja ever again.

Do you want a career in higher education? Have you ever taught?

If you want to move into academe you have the education and the 'street cred' to get a job at almost any university with a photo journalism program. The only thing that you should have is some experience teaching. You might want to try and get some experience by adjuncting. You will also need to adjust your resume to show that you can teach and deal with students.

Working with students is VERY different from having a professional career. They are NOT professionals, but rather professionals in training.

My brother did just what you're suggesting... he went into academe after 20+ years working as a photo-journalist. I went into academe after nearly twenty years working in television.

Oh, one thing that is extremely important. You MUST have 18 hours (credits) of Journalism at the Masters level. That's what is required to get a job at any accredited program.
