Hi,

I've been working in public accounting now for 1.5 years and thinking of pursuing a higher education. Would you recommend a masters in accounting. I have my bachelors in accounting and economics and I'm not sure if a masters in accounting will be helpful. Most of the people I know who did their masters just did it to get enough credits to sit for a CPA.

As far as I can tell, all a masters in accounting is good for is qualifying you for the CPA exam.  If you (ever) want to be a CPA, go get the degree and then take the test.  If not, then don't worry about it.

Thanks. I already have my CPA, so I guess the answer is a no to masters. I am, however, still thinking of getting a higner education.. though I don't think MBA is a good fit either.

Well, what are your intentions for the future? That would certainly play into what kind of degree you have.
