What if we were sincerely negative?

I am not a motivational expert but have done some reading on this. If you happen to be so sincerely negative in your classroom, you are helping many to persist and succeed. Sometimes that sincerely negative input is what the students need.

God Bless!

What about sincerely snarky?

There's a time and a place for positiveness, but then there's a time to tell someone that it's best that he/she/hu focus his/her/hus attention elsewhere.

I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and their dog!

I have never heard of such a thing as suggesting that negativity in the classroom will help students succeed.  Can you give us a reference?

No. If you can't find one, I'm certainly not going to help you.

Are you accusing me of being the puppeteer of CP?  Nope, not mine.

Did I match the style though?  I don't know if I was weird enough.  I should probably just hang out over at PWP.

No copied the wrong quote, sorry. Wasn't meaning to imply you were the puppeteer. I should be at PWP (or Posting While Drinking Cough Medicine...)

Not a problem.

I can't help but think someone's pulling CP's strings.

After I made such friendly gestures, you made such a nasty comment. I am going to withdraw from your class.

Reverse motivation or negative motivation is used with star  athletes and entertainers all the time. Ever hear of motivation, peak performance, performance cycle, Johari window etc?
