Advice on the tenure-track in Denmark
«

Hi,
I will be moving soon to Copenhagen, Denmark for a 3-year tenure-track assistant professor job. Any advice on navigating the tenure-track waters in the Danish system?
I will be moving from a US institution located in a tropical paradise. Anybody know if the Danish universities pay for relocation expenses? (I am still waiting on the formal contract).
Many thanks!

I don't know about the Danish university system, but I have lived in Denmark, and I'll say this: Danes do not appreciate overt competition, and what seems like normal self-promotion in the USA might come across as too aggressive in DK. Keep a low profile and be agreeable. Also, you might find more drinking in professional contexts, so pace yourself!
Denmark is wonderful, overall. Congratulations on your job.

Thanks for the advice.
They will reimburse the cost of one-way economy airfares. Other than that, nothing. But I really can't complain as the rest is really good.
We are waiting for work & residence permits and hopefully we will be in Denmark soon. Can't wait to start!
