Hi, I happen to have just started as a grad student in atlantic/british imperial history at a top 20 program so I thought I'd chime in. You seem to have very good chances, but naturally there's no certainty in the process. As for other good departments in the US, a list based on my personal impressions would include

NYU (Karen Kupperman and others)
Harvard (home of the atlantic history seminar)
UT Austin (strong in british empire and and latin america; Ransom center)
UCLA (huge department with Pagden and others)
Johns Hopkins (long standing focus on atlantic history)

Good luck!
