I accepted the offer without a second visit and pushing hard for spouse hiring, which I regret now.
The department promise to work on the spouse hiring, but we don't have much bargain power now.
We graduated from the same department but different fields, and in my future institute spouse will need finding a position in another department.  Spouse and I are going to the second visit
next week. The department arranged us meeting with a faculty member from spouse's potential
department. Beside this meeting and a house-hunt tour , spouse has nothing to do.

I like to have my spouse involved more in my second visit. We are always very involved in each others' research. Can my spouse join my meetings with other people?

No, it would be inappropriate.

If you have some specific examples of where you think it would be appropriate, however, you may want to share that detail.

I suggest house hunting, exploring the area, and hanging out in the library.
