Greetings fellow sinus sufferers!
Does anyone have a recipe for making sinus irrigation solution? I just ran out of the pre-mixed powder and if I don't irrigate today, my face will explode. Thank you.

I used to suffer from severe sinusitis (it went away when I moved to a more congenial climate). I have just used a teaspoon (or so) of salt in a cup of warm water. It works. A quick google might give you accurate proportions but I didn't bother.

Oh, dear. I hope your face doesn't explode! Are you using something like the neti-pot? I usually get half a dozen sinus infections each year, and am thinking about getting one.
Wikipedia suggests using hypertonic solutions that are saltier than the nasal fluid.

I tried a neti pot but my nose is almost always congested to the point that mere gravity is insufficient to get the fluid through to my sinuses, so I invested in one of those sinus irrigator tips that hooks on to your water-pik machine. Not much money (~$35) but well worth it.

Thanks, Spork. I'm off to irrigate.

I like my neti-pot a lot, especially when the weather gets dry or I'm traveling. Planes and hotels seem to always do a number on my nose. I have to be really careful to stay hydrated too.
