Since this seems to be the place for online learning threads, I'm curious about online learning programs others here would recommend, particularly in terms of quality, legitimacy, offline reputation, etc.

Also, whether there are any free or low-cost online learning options that award some sort of certificate or degree.

Thanks.

While I wouldn't say this is the best place to find information on online learning, I have been looking for an excuse to pass on this information, and this is as good an excuse as any:

Excelsior College is beta testing a new credit by exam program, so for the moment, one can receive free credit by examination.

https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/Excelsior_College_Examinations/UExcel

I am not affiliated with them in any way.

It all depend on what you want the degree in.  Very many "traditional" universities, colleges, and community colleges have online programs.  Some states (eg, Fla, NH, ...) even have online public high schools.

For-profit online programs tend to be more expensive, so do some homework.

Really? Because I had always heard that Rapid E. Learning was a front for the North American Man-Boy Love Association.

Jackalope - you've made my daynight. This is for you.  Neither is me, the mouseman is small, furry and male.  I wouldn't mind being that jackalope, though (is the mousewoman around?).

The rapid e learning centre is found to be the best place for on line training. This providing the hundreds of course materials for Maths,Physics, chemistry and Biology subjects. For me,I completed my on line graduation with the help of these materials only..Thanking you..

Undergrad or Grad.

I find it funny that they could call it "Rapid Learning". Seems a contradiction in terms -- most "learning" takes time. I wouldn't want my surgeon or airline pilot to learn 'rapidly'!

degree's and diploma's

You'll have more credibility once you learn how to use apostrophes.

You may want to look into the CLEP and DSST exams. They are credit by examination. $70-100 per test. You just study for the subject yourself and take the test! They are worth anywhere from 3-12 credits usually.
A lot of colleges only allow a limited number of these tests to count toward your degree.
The military is really big into these tests, though, so colleges affiliated with the military often accept a larger number of CLEP/DSST credits.
You'll want to look into "SOC" programs to get the names of colleges that have a relationship with the military, and then look on their websites to see how many exam credits they will accept. These tests can really save you a lot of money.

Wouldn't "fast" depend upon your connection type and speed?  I can't imagine it's very fast for someone still on dial-up.

I'm more concerned about the learning that occurs there if the spammer idiot can't even spell online correctly.

I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and their dog!

Maybe he meant Oline and it's something new using Olean to smooth the online learning process and reduce fat.
