I recently picked up a disposable Pilot Varsity fountain pen and fell in love. It writes much more smoothly and lasts longer than the other disposable fountain I'd found. I thought it was a good way to test to see if I liked fountain pens, but keep getting them (in addition to having a "real" fountain pen) because they are convenient.

I stopped at Staples to check out gel pens. Nothing new in that section, sorry to say. But I saw that Martha Stewart has a new line - lots of pretty folders in patterns, lots of pretty labels that I couldn't quite figure out how I would use. A lot of it doesn't seem particularly functional, although I am well aware that function isn't always the point. Anyway, it's worth a look.
I saw the MS line this week. Such a pretty display! If I didn't think they'd run me out of town, I'd use her lovely blue dividers in this year's retention binder! I am still using the Arc line for my planner. I sprang for a file cart, colored hanging folders, and lovely colorful file folders for storing the research for my new project. No drawers, because I should be using these items, not boxing them away. I also bought some Uni-Ball elites, with which I wrote my dissertation, on narrow-ruled tablets with gummed tops. I may spring for a fountain pen to see if I can go that route this time around.

[/quote] I really ought to; it's quite dirty. But, see, I'll just sit here and wait until someone posts a link to a nice shiny new one on Amazon. I'd really like one that you can safely put through the dishwasher. PS: What the heck's going on with the quote function here?

For me, visiting this thread is a constant source of temptation. My lack of self-control when faced with the lure of office supplies has resulted in: 1. A Levenger spree 2. Two new fountain pens to add to the collection 3. Several new bottles of Noodler's ink I safely wrote in my New Levenger circa http://www.levenger.com/PAGETEMPLATES/PRODUCT/Product.asp?Params=Category=326-846|Level=2-3|pageid=7183 without attracting the suspicions of canaryspouse, who has some sort of radar capable of detecting new briefcases and outfits, but seems not to have alerted him to the presence of new office supplies.

That's just mean....
How so? <looking clueless>I'm just trying to pay kindness back to the group who kept telling me I really did need to get a fountain pen. I put in the order today for the pen, converter cartridge, noodles ink, and a book on improving one's handwriting. This, despite a strong aversion to writing by hand and a preference for using the keyboard. I can also see this will soon lead to a second fountain pen to permit me to use both blue and black ink without cleaning pens every time I need to switch colors. Melba wanted a dishwasher safe keyboard, I provided a link to one available on amazon. Isn't that what friends are for? <shoves hands into pockets and starts whistling>

I have a preference for blues. Glad others love the pens. Oh, and Think Geek sells some keyboard goo that cleans and disinfects.
