I proofread people all the time. And I refuse to use commas. And I start sentences with conjunctions.

If I put my money in the stock market and it went down 20%, I would have an adverse reaction.

"Rebound?"  Whazzat?

Only one of our index funds ever made it back to where it was the day we bought it (of course, it is way back down now), and capital gains taxes dwarfed the meager gains on that one.  We would have been far far better off had we invested all the money in T-bills, CDs, or even savings accounts.  - DvF
