How did this one slip by the editors? (or should I say "editor's"?) And this is a publication for higher ed???

“bevy of flat-screen TV's,”

I call apostrophe abuse. I interpret the "s" here to mean more than one TV, and unless those TVs are owning something, why is there an apostrophe? Someone please re-educate me on the use of apostrophes, because obviously my elementary school education means nothing.

Perhaps the editors were overwhelmed by the nature of Club Ed U, where there is a hot tub in the quad, ice cream trucks patrolling the campus to hand out free icecream, free pretzals 'n drinks for students between classes, and seemingly an office dedicated to keeping track of each student's preferred snack for the "welcome back from break" treat basket delivered to each student's room at the end of break?

I wonder what their alumni donations will be like? (Apparently these perks are new, and old alumni have opined that current students seem "lazy and entitled.")

I like this part:
Quote
Another is live music in the cafeteria. One day might feature a folky guitar duo and the next a jazz quartet. When Mr. Qubein took over as president in 2005, he discovered that students spent an average of 12 minutes in the cafeteria per visit. It was not a "destination point," he says. After the addition of live music and a bevy of flat-screen TV's, the average visit is 34 minutes.

Shouldn't, say, the library and classrooms be a "destination point"?  Now kids are partying in the cafeteria when they probably need to be elsewhere.

I'm all for relaxation on campus.  But come on, already.
