There seemed to be a lot of Brazilians in the Allston/Brighton area (off Comm. Ave. past BU).

Yes.  Also in Framingham.

Thanks Hestia and Zharkov,
Famingham locations are excellent.  I am not picky, just interested in the other traditions in the area.

Hestia et all, PMs of the best of anything in that vein are much appreciated, I like to browse and know what's for me when I see it.  I'm interested in the best places to look, for that certain book, _____ or piece of jewelery, more than practical goods or services.  The botanica reference was a theme, not a specific.

You know, places.

Another good thing to do in Boston is stop by Fenway park and purchase Red Sox-themed gifts for me ;)

Also do the history stuff like a good tourist.  It's worth seeing if you haven't seen it.  Though a bit depressing that the site of the Boston Tea Party is marked by a plaque on an office building standing over what WAS the harbor.

And eat at Anthony's!  (That's not the full name, it's Anthony's Pier something or other).

LOVE that place.  My folks took me there for my high school graduation dinner.
