What are some magazines you read/subscribe to? I have been getting The Sun for the last few years and I'm really exasperated with it. I'm looking for a new relationship.

I haven't subscribed to anything in a while and am thinking of re-upping:
Atlantic Harper's Monthly
My dad gave me a long subscription to Time but I let it run out as I focused more on the internet, quite frankly.
I still miss Lingua Franca.

Do you hail from Planet Hello Kitty? It's like an action movie, but boring.

We get Entertainment Weekly and I get Artforum & Bookforum.
Occasionally I think about resubscribing to The New Yorker.

Doesn't that always happen? I feel the same way about the NewYork Times. I've been thinking about SEED. Though I haven't decided if I find them interesting or annoying (it's a fine line).

Real Simple is my favorite magazine, hands down. It's got everything--consumer reports, first-person narratives, recipes, travel, crafts, home improvement, etc. And of course, everything is REALLY SIMPLE. I think it goes for $4.95 on the newsstands.
I've also taken a shine to Good. It's the magazine for "people who give a d**n." A little harder to find, but 100% of subscription money goes to your choice of a number of charities they identify. Newsstand sales go in their pocket, apparently.

Some decorating magazines and news magazines. My current fun one is Scientific American Mind. It always has something interesting.

Bead Style. I don't have my act together enough to do any crafting lately, but I enjoy looking at the pictures and fantasizing. I used to take the New Yorker, but I didn't keep up with it and it just added clutter.

The Week is a good alternative to Time and Newsweek. The Week covers the major events of the week (news, politics, opinion, cartoon, arts, travel, science, books, what am I forgetting?) by summarizing what other publications have said. It's kind of like a Reader's Digest for smart people. It covers both right- and left-leaning publications.

Definitely the New Yorker.
In attempt to cut costs, I'm now in the habit of spending a leisurely couple of hours reading a selection of magazines while sipping lattes at the local Barnes and Noble. I just collect whatever catches my eye -- lately it has been Consumer Reports, Harpers, New Yorker, Entertainment Weekly, and those magazines devoted to my favorite television shows (Lost, 24, Smallville, etc.).
