Here's a new one on me. I was just trolling through CHE's job ads and I found one dean position in liberal arts that requires certification in project management. I've heard of this type of requirement in IT and even for a VP of business services, but this is the first time I've heard of it for a liberal arts dean position. Has anyone encountered this before? Or, put another way, is this something worth investing time in if you want to move up the food chain in administration?

My institution (a business school) offers such a certificate program, and the world is not beating down the door to get in.  In fact, we've recently jettisoned both our BBA program and our certificate program for credit due to lack of enrollment and offer only a non-credit certificate as part of our professional development series.
