I think that we should start a house exchange... for those of us who'd like to visit another part of the world/country.

I've got a three bedroom house in the middle of England... duties would include feeding/caring for two cats... mice disposal comes with the territory because one of the cats likes to bring them in the house for a visit.

I'm looking for something on a lake...

Funny, I was thinking of the same thing recently.  Not that it will help you (Expatinuk) - I also am in vaguely middle England: four-bedroom house that comes with two cats and a dog.  I have sabbatical next spring, but I can't go where I need to go and bring the animals with me.

Rent would be quite low for someone who can take care of all three animals.  This includes twice-daily insulin injections for the diabetic dog...
