Isn't part of the fun of going to conferences skipping out on a session and seeing something cool? There's just something about being bad like that that feels so very good.

Of course, I've only done one conference a year for the past few years, and I don't travel for my research (except for up some stairs or down some stairs in the same building where my office is).

I have gotten to live in some really neat places though. Some day we get to settle down.

Places I have been: Paris, London, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Southern France, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico, much of Canada and US

Places I want to visit: more of New England, British Columbia, other places in South America (esp. Argentina and Brazil), Spain, Portugal, Italy(!), Asia (esp. Japan, China, India)

So many places to visit...so little money.

Places I've visited:  San Fran a dozen times; San Diego 6 or 8; Florida resorts 4; Philadelphia; Boston 2 or 3 time, DC, Barcelona 3; Rio; Seoul twice; Thailand;  Work with vacation: Germany; India; Costa Rico; Guadalajara; a dozen different cities in the US.

I saw the Golden Gate bridge as I flew *out* of SF over it.

A drag not to be able to sightsee in SF, but the bay is really pretty from the air. At least there's that.

Yes, on a beautiful clear early morning in winter. Probably got a better view than I would have on the ground.
