Blatantly double posting on something unrelated:
Prefacing a statement with "like it or not" does not transform your opinions into a universal truth.

Like it or not, my opinions are universal truths. In my private universe that I carry around where my brain used to be. But only on Thrusdays and any other day that ends in y.

Fyi, a comment posted on another forum by an Oakland University professor. (There, the professor's name was on the post, and I verified that the name is of someone at the campus, but I do not include the name here per fora rules.) "As a professor at Oakland University, I am privy to knowledge that this student has sexually harassed and intimidated students, professors, and staff over the past two years. Dr. Mitzelfeld was the first person to take a serious stance against him and on behalf of the female faculty I wish to thank her for her courage. The administration reacted very slowly to other threats this man has made. Making this issue seem as though this concern was stemmed form one or two essays is unfortunate because there is a long history with this student. It seems this man has deeply-seated issues and is a threat to the Oakland Community." By the way, regarding fora rules, that entire thread was deleted today by a moderator who gave no reason for doing so. (I asked.) Anyone know why that was done today? after many days when it apparently was fine? and nothing new had been posted on it for a day or two, so why not sooner? or, conversely, why at all?

Yes, I saw that it was reported right away, and that reasons were discussed here in the one-offs. But since those reasons clearly were not sufficient, I wondered what reasons had arisen since. (Perhaps it has something to do with the OP having lawyered up today, according to new news reports?)

I'm convinced that he's the same guy who applied for our director of grants and sponsored projects position, then felt up the acting director all day while scoping the undergrads.

I'm not sure your first assumption is a good one. It seems more likely either that it took the mods a while to decide or they were just busy.

I knew I got into the wrong field. Pervy rocket science would have been right up my alley. It's so easy, too. The rockets are already giant penises. 'Scuse me while I "kiss" the sky.

I do not know why it was deleted today; the member-mods are generally not privy to why and how the staff mods make their decisions. But I cannot imagine that it would not be legally safer for the CHE to keep this site from being used as a way to publicize the incident. VP

VP You might be right, but I'm struggling to see how the CHE can be liable for anything. He started the thread, and I'm willing to bet that the conditions of membership that no-one actually reads says something about how the CHE isn't liable for anything ever under any circumstances.
