Carp!  I had in my mind a different disfunctional former forumite when I posted. Following the link - well, now I see the resemblance. Too chicken to post over there though.

My reaction to that thread would be "isolate and ignore." Whoever he/she/it is, it seems that continuing the conversation is unlikely to produce any positive outcome. It's not even a fun trainwreck.

As I said over there, it's a matter of principle. I couldn't stand to do it.

Train wreck! I know you can't look away but it is time for all good posters to walk away unless you want to be called as a witness in a nuisance lawsuit.

Yeah, MG, that one stopped being fun about 4-5 pages ago for me. The game won't be called until OP decides to quit, but just . . . yuck.

I don't think it is at all surprising that some not insignificant number of bright undergrads with both good writing skills and physical disabilities would find us. Bright kids who can't spend all their afternoons and weekends chasing balls down muddy fields probably do way more reading and writing than their peers, which would tend to make them better writers. And the online communities for people with physical disabilities are huge and active. Interacting online isn't a new thing to someone who runs across us from that world. (Though, I point out, given these facts, one would indeed expect better reading comprehension as well as the basic knowledge that one cannot win a poo fight with an entire community.)

For the first time in my fora history, I am taking back anything kind or collegiate I've ever said to or about you. All of it. You are a soap-brained weirdo in need of a keeper, a clue, and wake-up call. A very vigilant and observant keeper, I should add.

You are "dead to me", as the saying goes. I mean it.

Perhaps every thread should have a 'Comments on..." thread connected to it.
Like this thread, these others would be metaforical, right?

Well, all right, but I object to the libel of being called soap-brained.  I admit to being a weirdo in need of a keeper, a clue, and a wake-up call, but that's it.

Oh, and you are off the Christmas card list until you apologize because I know you don't mean it.
