Yankeedan may well make it with her thread on psychic powers.  It'll keep her busy answering, or trying to answer, all manner of odd questions from various posters.

Thanks for getting things back on topic!  Some here were straying from the fascinating topic of *me!*  Well done.

Not a bit self-centered, are you?  Nice to know that the soon-to-be-DSM is the modest sort.

As the count goes up, the modesty goes down...where is my cabana boy? I need a G&T!

Good heavens, I just noticed I'm closing in on 3K myself.  How odd.  Of course, I've been logged-in only two fewer days than Polly_Mer, and she's  a couple of thousand posts ahead of me, if memory serves.  I just fixed myself a gin and tonic, but nothing fancy; I use generic gin because I can't taste the difference between it and the high-class stuff.

If memory serves, when YankeeDan joined, we had some speculation that she was actually a returning person who had been on sabbatical.  Thus, she should get it together and post those last 15 posts or there will be consequences.  Severe consequences.  She may get her second favorite colored towel for the first day just to indicate our displeasure at waiting so long.  :)

Posty, posty.

Oh, and Conjugate, what do you do with all that time logged in if you don't posty, posty, posty?

Just 11 to go now, she should really get it done before the work week starts.

You know, it used to be that posters had to come up with an amazing post for the 1000th, something for "post"erity.  I remember being intimidated with what to do for #1000.  Now one can sail in to the clubhouse with just any ol' meaningless post.  So start sailing Yankee Dan.

Be careful, though, YD.  If concernedcouple's thread is deleted, your post count drops!

Good point GH. There's always the Free Ass. thread for those sprinting to the finish line.

Or those who want to carelessly meander for weeks.

C'mon, YankeeDan.  We have been waiting...

and waiting...

Don't make me resurrect some of the threads for posters who stopped just as the end was in sight.

Oh, and Conjugate, what do you do with all that time logged in if you don't posty, posty, posty?

Read and laugh, often.  For instance, there's the Something Great Coming Out of an Interview thread, started by Zinnerson, that had me laughing pretty enthusiastically, and the usual supply of snark on the How Many Times to Let the Phone Ring thread.  I also make the mistake of putting in long, carefully-written, edited responses to thoughtful posts in order to raise the level of debate (sometimes) or make dreadful puns (sometimes).

You actually read many of these threads before posting?  Sheesh.

I see YankeeDan has stalled at 989.

Yep, and some of us have perfected the art of typing a response to one thread while reading the next thread.  Of course, that does require one to be a touch typist and a tad schizophrenic, but it all works out.

I think Yankeedan has caught a second wind and might just yet enter the Ye Olde Clubhouse.

Minions!!! Start the drink blenders..post haste.

And you, over there...fluff those towels. Sheesh, there's never a good fluffer around when you need them.

I dunno...I'm thinking...I want my 1000th to be either close to the line of "ban worthy" or terrifically *helpful* or very funny.  I'm waiting to chose my moment...
