Looks like they doubled down!!  Just a few days ago they upped it six cents to $3.25.  Today I see that it is up 14 Cents to 3.39!!

What did I miss??  Why the 20 cent increase in only about a week?  Is there more to come in the next few days?

Similar here - one local station jumped 25 cents overnight - 3.30 to 3.55.  The others will have caught up by this afternoon, unfortunately.

I paid $3.39 Thursday and my father said he paid $3.38 on Saturday. Sunday it was $3.55.

It is rather silly.  Apparently, according to the news, the Iranians have threatened to block oil shipments if we don't stop nagging them about their nuclear weapons program.  Even though they have not, as far as I know, stopped shipping oil or prevented others from doing so, the fear that they might is enough to make people raise the prices on the oil that has already been shipped.

The Saudis are concerned, because they are clever enough (again, according to the news, which for all I know may be making stuff up) to realize that if the prices keep going up, eventually we'll get serious about reducing dependency on foreign oil.  They've said something about trying to keep prices stabilized, but apparently the gas stations in the US don't listen to that.

I paid 3.24 today, with a twenty cents off bonus for grocery loyalty points, so really it was 3.44.

$3.54 yesterday and today at the cheap places. Geez, over the month of January, prices went up 40 cents per gallon. Amazing.

I believe I paid $3.79. But I didn't look too carefully. I was indulging the most convenient gas station, which happens to be the most expensive in town.

The cheapest gas station in town was $3.14 on Thursday of last week, now $3.35. I'm driving down to fumes hoping the prices drop again.

Now that I have a 100-mile commute once a week, gas has gone up here (I think it's about $3.70 for 87 octane)--and the Monster Truck has a diesel engine, so I'm paying a premium ($4.05).  And while the route from Somewhere Warm to Other Warm Place is technically a highway, it also has lots of stop-and-go sections, so I'm not even getting good gas mileage.

I wish I could take my scooter for the commute (60 to 80 mpg), but, even though the scooter can achieve highway speeds (it tops out at about 60mph) it's too far and too dangerous.  Rats.

Snuck up on me.  I went to a meeting tonight and passed the local station and noted $3.39.  A few hours laterI came back home and noticed  $3.48.

Anyone else noted a recent jump?

Jump, heck yeah. We're up to $3.89.

What's everyone paying for gas taxes? Ours is about $.60 per gallon (state & federal plus local sales tax).

Prices here jumped from $3.91 on Wednesday to $4.06 yesterday.  I have a tank full of the $3.91 gas.  Perhaps I should save it as it will be an antique soon.
