interview

Hi
I will be interviewed for a job at a UK university. I know that job interviews in the UK are substantially different from those in the US but what are the main differences? How long is the interview? A whole day? A couple of hours? Does the search committee ask more or less the same questions as a US search committee? Is there a research and/or teaching presentation? Thanks in advance!

anon200.... I'm seriously not being snarky ... but this question is asked here by everyone who gets an interview in the UK. Scroll back through the
Academics in the UK
board and look for one of the many many many threads.

anon200 - have you considered asked them what they want?
Just as in the USA, different institutions and even different departments will be looking for different things. Yes, you are likely to be asked to give a research talk. You may or may not be asked to give some kind of a teaching presentation. The length of interview will vary.
