What do I do while waiting for more t-track Ads?

1. Plan A - be an t-track academic (yes, I know how hard this is).
2. Plan B - none. (see #1 above, all I ever wanted to be).
3. Postdoc ended 1 yr ago.
4. 1yr CLTA Assistant Prof. ending now.
5. Won a major grant - can't start it (see #4 above).
6. Have a second major grant ready for submission - can't get it signed (see #4 above).
7. Hu head of all adjuncts would like to make me one of his.
8. Hu's (several) heads of research associates would like me.
9. Can't do 7 or 8 (see #1 above).
10. "They" say the only way I can "join" is to win a t-track search. OK. But there are only so many in my field, and I am geographically restricted, so what do I do in the meantime? Adjucting and RA are not possibilities especially because I much search locally and so they work against me.
What would you do? Pretend to take a trip to the other side of the world, live on no salary, and write reviews?
Any other suggestions?

There are two questions here: what to do with your grants and what to do in your career.
Can you add a trusted colleague who is a tenure-track or tenured academic as a co-applicant on the grant? This would allow the university to deposit the cheque for the funded grant (so you could spend the money and work on your project). If you had a co-applicant who was tenure-track or tenured, you could submit the second grant.
If you are place-bound and need money to live, it would seem reasonable to get a job. Can your 1 year position be renewed in light of your successful grant application - have you asked your chair? Do they have soft-funded Research Assistant Professor positions in your department (assuming there enough money in your grant to pay your salary)? An adjunct position or research associate position may be a "last resort", but you are being offered both - one or the other would pay the bills.
Good luck.
