AAA Releases Commission Report on Engagement of Anthropology with US Military and Intelligence Communities
November 28
The Commission investigating ethical and procedural concerns regarding anthropologists engagement with US military, intelligence, and security communities delivered their final report to the American Anthropological Association's Executive Board on November 28 during the Association's 106th Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
The report, which is the culmination of over one year of research by the eight-person commission, neither endorses nor opposes engagement with US military and intelligence organizations, but outlines the ethical perils and opportunities of such work, and encourages a continued public dialogue on this subject.
