I flew down here on Monday to give a research seminar yesterday, which went really well.  I'm supposed to fly home today, but it's looking extremely likely that weather will nix the flight.  (The earlier flight has already been cancelled.)

Sigh.  This day is going to suck.

Just venting, sorry.

I'm afraid this will be a common problem today.   Make sure to grab some snacks (and cash for things you can't take through security) and a novel on the way to the airport.  Good luck.

Was this an interview?  You might be able to use the extra time to tour the town, weather permitting.  If it was a talk, is there someone at the university that you've been working with?  You could always get together and hash out some ideas.  And if those two ideas don't work, there's always the hotel bar!

Just a talk, not an interview.  (I am gainfully and happily employed on the tt.)  The weather would indeed make touring the town unpleasant, but I will certainly contact the people I was visiting if need be.

Of the six flights between cities A and B today (3 each way), mine was the only one not cancelled.  I am safely at my destination, phewf!

Sorry if this sounds flippant, but I'd be OK with being stranded for 24 hrs somewhere as long as my sprint broadband card works and I can get food and a power receptacle to charge up the batteries. Ahh.....
