Hey, everyone!  I've been away from internetland for a few days, but it sure was nice to come back and find all this ongoing support.

Contemporary, I was particularly struck by something you said in your last post:

\I used to think I had very diverse interests, and superficially, I do.  At the core, they are all related.  It takes some time to see this, be patient with yourself.  I have no doubt your willingness to work is being noticed.

I'm beginning to come to this conclusion myself.  I have a variety of interests that seem, at best, loosely connected.  Increasingly, though, I realize that my engagement with each of these topics revolves around a core set of questions.  So now I need to work on defining the core questions more clearly.  Anyway, it feels like progress.

The presentation this week went well, and my big research project is underway.  I hope everyone else's semesters are off to a good start!
