NEH Summer Institutes/Seminars

Hi, all,

Have any forumites participated in an NEH Summer Institute or Seminar?

There are two I'm thinking of applying to (both in Western Europe in Summer 2008), and I'd really like to hear others' experiences, good and bad. I'd also be grateful for info on how competitive the "admissions" process is.

I just posted the same question in the research thread yesterday!
People posted answers to my query there (including ref. to an old thread) so I would look there for answers to this question..
