I come to the Fora to learn snark.

The lyricist within me sees potential in this.  Remember that song with the lyrics that go "Do you like Pina Coladas..."  Who did that one, Bertie Higgins?  Jimmy Buffet?

It's sad that I know this. It's called Escape by Rupert Holmes.

Ah, one-hit wonder?

We still enforce an hour of afternoon quiet time in the house. The kids go to their rooms and the adults try to work or do other projects around the house. Sometimes we have a little happy hour or go to our room for quiet time. Will I be able to enforce quiet time when my kids are teenagers?

No, but by that time, they will have had several years of sex ed.  A well-timed wink or nudge should be enough to make them more than willing to get out of the house for a few hours.  Then you can do whatever work, reading, etc., you need to get caught up on.
