I have enjoyed reading the posts in these forums.  They are often informative, but always entertaining.

As to my question, I am interested in pursuing an overseas academic administrative position.  I have looked at the usual websites (i.e. Chronicle and Higheredjobs) for postings.  Any other ideas out there on locating administrative openings?

Also, I'm curious if I have much of a shot at these positions since I have not worked overseas before.  My background is, very quickly, 10 years in HR administration in for-profit and higher education.  I was a tenure-track faculty member for three years and am now VP of HR for a college. Yes, I couldn't hack the faculty world!

Thanks for any input or suggestions.

No idea. For the UK, maybe look up UK jobs in general? But I think it will be hard to be hired not from the EU.

Your environment sounds vaguely toxic.  Or maybe just characteristically British.

Our higher end admin jobs are advertized on jobs.ac.uk (UK university). But I am not aware that we have ever appointed anyone from overseas. I know that the spouse of one of my faculty colleagues took two years and a significant pay cut to track down a job in the UK when colleague moved from the US.

Thank you both - my sense is that it will be difficult not being from the EU as well.

Again, thanks.
