I'm just curious what work other grad students have left before the end of their semester.
Me?
-- 10 page paper due Dec. 14th (I've started this) -- 20 page paper due Dec. 14th (I haven't decided a topic for this) -- exam on Dec. 16 -- exam on Dec. 17

Not much left now.
20 page paper (mostly a descriptive section for the dissertation) 8 page paper (foreign language class) 2 book reviews (I've read the books, anyway) 1 final presentation (foreign language class) 1 final exam (foreign language class)
Might make it, after all.

15 minute presentation on Dec 12, teaching methods course - I'm not worried about this 15-20 page paper on Dec 14 - progress is good, need to present on the topic on the 10th 20 pager on Dec 18 - I no longer like my topic much, I'm trying to shift it around a little... Piles of grading to be done by the 19th
I feel pretty calm about it all right now, but ask me next Tuesday.

My to-do list is pathetically short compared to all the others posted here. Two 15-page papers, one 2-page annotation of some reading I have yet to do, and a mountain of grading.
Both 15-pagers are started, and one is progressing very slowly, but the other one just does not want to get written. I've abandoned two false starts on it so far, and attempt #3 is fighting with me.

Don't start throwing rotten fruit, but. . . I'm almost done! I have to give one 30-minute presentation, and turn in a 5-page paper by next Wednesday.
Had you asked me last week it would have been a different story. Within the last five days, I've done a presentation and turned in a 20-page paper, two four-page papers, and an annotated bibliography with the first 40 sources for my diss.
Good luck to all who are still finishing!

One paper due tomorrow (hence my spending time on the forum), a final exam on Monday, and a larger paper due next week sometime. And an exam to write and then grade. That's all! I just love crossing things off the list and having the list actually get shorter.

Nearing the end... last day of classes is today. - Pedagogical improvement project (short reflection plus a 30-minute QuickTime movie illustrating improvements)--done--due Today
- A 20 page ethnography -- written, just need one more read-through--due Today at 5:30p
- A 4 page response paper -- written, not revised yet... due tomorrow
- Putting together a few course portfolios (what a bland task, yet part of the grade nonetheless)
- A few aural analysis/listening log assignments to complete
- Outlines of a few contemporary operas
- A few observations of fellow GTAs that I must edit
- Must give and grade a total of 105 finals in one day
- And I have four exams to take, myself
Then I'm off to a guest conducting residency, of sorts, with a local school district. The end of exams will be here next Friday, and them I'm off to drive 1000km to be somewhere Saturday morning!

Hee hee... Our quarter has been over for almost a month now!!!
Ok ok... but I do have one paper that was given an extension and is due before Christmas. A lot of progress has been done... but I feel done, and am having a hard time getting going!
(not to mention getting other stuff done... prepping for comps, an abstract that is due, and another paper that needs some serious work... and another paper to write for a conference in the spring!)

I have to rework Ch. 3 and after I do that I have Ch, 4, 5 and 6 to do. I have to decide where I want illustrations. I have to check my references. I have to rework my bibliography. I'm waiting for a book to arrive in the post so I can read it and see what I should've added. I have to check a disseration online- for what I have missed there. I am getting depressed just listing these things... I've got guests for dinner tonight, the house is a mess and I still have to cook - why am I lurking here?! Why am I doing this?!

lots...that's why I'm here, lol... Sunday Dec. 9 11:59pm-a 15 page paper due (about half done)
Monday Dec.10-class presentation (I am responsible for about 10 min. of a 1 hour group presentation). I also have to compile the ppt. since I am so late in getting my part done. I also have a 220 page book to read for this class.
Friday Dec. 14-literature review due (no page limit, and will be graded as a work in progress) this is about 1/4 done. I have to read 4 chapters of a book as well for discussion.
I have a couple of assignments for my research assistantship as well, and I am working on some papers for conference presentations next semester....so much to do...but it's fun!!! (Really, it is)...

Hello everyone. I hope that all is well with each of you ...
I'm done! (I'm just up grading papers so that I can turn it in to my advisor before I head out of town tomorrow).
In the past 3 weeks I had to:
Finish editing (and shooting) a 20 minute film Design and present a final educational project Write a design document Write an end of the term paper (7 pages) Write a research report (10 + pages) Finish designing and presenting a website Take a final exam Finish a photo project
I did ok gradewise (I think - I have no idea what will happen in two of my classes), and somehow managed to keep my sanity, but not so well in terms of absorbing the material or balance. It was a really rough first semester - I bit off much more than I could chew and I hope that I don't have to pay the price for it for the rest of my time here ...
Good luck everybody ...

Many of you still have papers to write, and it sounds like some of you still need topics. My question is: with a deadline quickly approaching, how do you formulate your paper topics? Usually throughout the course of the semester a few ideas will occur to me, but I'm in a particular course right now that I find very abstract, and consequently very difficult to write a 20pg paper for it.

I have many a seminar left, and two major papers, which are due in mid-January. Damn you, school of an irregular academic calendar. Also, my program doesn't give grades.
