Just a side note: there really are not serious barriers to US citizens -- or other foreigners -- being hired in Canada. Americans constitute 10-30% of many departments. Given that Canada has a very small population compared to the US, the "Canadian preference" language is really intended to preserve some Canadian content, after a period in which the majority of faculty in some departments were not Canadian (especially at certain schools).
Canadian Association of University Teachers and Association of Canadian University Teachers of English both maintain job boards.
In general, getting hired outside one's own country is a bit more complicated than staying within it. If you are just looking for a one or two year stint abroad, you might look at US university programmes in the UK or various exchange programmes.
Sorry for the brief detour, but OP seemed to be somewhat misinformed about Canadian hiring.

I recognize that 'I hate Americans' attitude.
Yes, of course, anyone who thinks you're rude must hate all Americans. They couldn't actually BE an American who's embarrassed by how you're representing us overseas.
Your Honor, I'd like to label this Exhibit B.

Are you sure that your name isn't really Hyperbole?

Expatinuk seems to be a Soviet Satellite in stationary orbit over the UK
It is what it is.
