I agree Res Life Guy--that's been my experience as well--when as an able-bodied person I worked with others to get certain kinds of accommodation.

But just because people will ridicule the ADA but not make racist remarks doesn't mean they aren't racist--just that the political climate is more accepting of disability bashing.

I agree with all those who have said that it's best not to mention an invisible disability at interview stage.  I have no choice in disclosing at least parts of my disability, as it's all too visible. 

It does make for some very awkward questions particularly when, for example, employers get occupational health reports back.  It is also getting harder for me to blend into the background as I move upwards, which can make life harder.
