Seems that ORU has been sued by several former professors who are claiming libel, slander, unlawful termination, inappropriate use of contributed funds, sexual improprieties by the President's wife, inappropriate involvement in political campaigns, and unlawful endorsement of political candidates (in violation of IRS 501(c)3 status).  Richard Roberts, President of the University, has taken an indefinite Leave of Absence until the issues are resolved.

As one of those unfortunate, misguided and zealous 18 year olds who decided to go there to school (and got a good undergraduate education, albeit 30 years ago) and whose degree now hangs like a dead and rotting albatross around his neck, I say --

GO GET 'EM IRS, FORMER PROFESSORS, AND LEGAL SYSTEM.  THIS COULDN'T HAPPEN TO MORE DESERVING PEOPLE!

The University is up for its decennial reaccreditation this Fall.  Hopefully, the accreditors will take a long and hard look at these issues before reaffirming their accreditation.

Maybe some of the young and hungry investigative reporters from The Chronicle will do a big expose on a University that was once a decent institution of higher learning but has become nothing more than a plaything for its founder's son and wife.
