I'm curious, how many of you earned your PhD in the UK and then landed a job there? What was the experience like after having completed undergrad, and even master's level work, in the US? Any Anglophiles do this in the field of ... English?

We've got someone here with US undergrad and a UK PhD - no-one really cares where you got your undergrad when you get to the academic job stage - though we are not a humanities department!

There are at least two in my unit (of about 200 faculty). I could probably come up with more if thought really hard.
